As Britain transitions to a renewables-led decarbonised electricity system, SSE is putting hydro at the heart of the energy transition. As well as progressing plans for new pumped storage hydro capacity at Coire Glas, the company is investing in existing hydro assets to increase potential output and extend the operational life of individual plant. This includes carrying out improvement works on hydro assets to maximise run-off, storage and optimisation benefits.
